My Style & Approach

We cannot get through life unscathed, but how we choose to explore our internal motivation and interpersonal relationships is what’s most important. My passion for helping others lies in a person-centred, culturally intuitive, and competent approach where mind and body can be explored safely and inclusively.

As no two stories can have the same plot line, neither can two plans of action. My style is integrative and holistic, rooted in a variety of evidence-based interventions, and considers each person’s unique needs, values, and goals, through biopsychosocial and intersectionality factors.

The space is always judgment-free, safe, and focused on a collaborative approach to health and wellness. As your therapist, I aim to guide you through your journey of self-discovery, self-realization, and growth to greater self-awareness. I believe that the key to success lies in the therapeutic relationship and aim to create an environment that offers trust and allows autonomy and authenticity.

Education, Training, & Professional Development

I have a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, possess a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from the University of Missouri, and hold an honours diploma in Film Production from Toronto Film School. I am a lifelong student who loves learning and acquiring knowledge and someone who is always working towards greater professional development. In addition to my formal academics, I am trained in a multitude of areas including:

  • The Neurobiology of Trauma

  • Foundations of Brain Injury

  • Child Sexual Abuse Prevention

  • Anxiety and Stress Management Coaching

  • Wellness Coaching

  • Weight Loss Coaching

  • Drug and Alcohol Recovery Fitness Specialist

  • Understanding Hoarding Disorder

  • Trauma Treatment Certification, in progress

  • Shame Informed and Disordered Eating Certification, in progress

Additionally, my experience includes working with individuals who have endured trauma, traumatic brain injury, and the aftermath of sexual violence. I am passionate about providing a safe and empathic space for both victims and offenders and guiding them through the healing process with sensitivity and respect.

In addition to my work with survivors, I have experience addressing emotional abuse, coercive control, and navigating child custody concerns. I believe in empowering individuals to reclaim their sense of agency and building healthier relationships.

Overall, I aim to provide comprehensive support and advocacy to help navigate the complexities of life, to foster resilience, and to promote healing every step of the way.

Personal interests

I’ve been a competitive athlete since the age of six; a swimmer for eighteen years and an amateur boxer for the past ten. I still compete and love the thrill of working hard to achieve milestones and lofty goals that keep my mental and physical health at the forefront of my being. I am the mother of three amazing boys, and I love nothing more than to watch them grow and succeed in their unique endeavors. Family, music, movies, podcasts, food, and live entertainment are my jam.
