My Style & Approach
Grounded in both academic training and personal experience, I approach therapy with empathy, curiosity, cultural humility, and compassion. Each person is the expert of their own story, and that healing happens through collaborative exploration within a safe and non-judgmental space. My role is to walk alongside you as we gently uncover the patterns, emotions, and values shaping your inner and outer world.
I work holistically, considering the emotional, relational, cultural, and spiritual dimensions that impact well-being. Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, parenting challenges, or questions around culture and identity, I seek to offer a warm and attuned presence where you may feel seen, heard, and supported.
In my work, I draw from a variety of evidence-based approaches, including Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) and Solution-Focused Therapy, as well as narrative and mindfulness-based practices.
Education, Training, & Professional Development
I am currently completing a Master of Counselling Psychology at Tyndale University and hold a background in qualitative research focused on end-of-life experiences and grief. This work has profoundly shaped my capacity to hold space for complexity, loss, and culturally nuanced expressions of pain and resilience.
As someone who began my academic journey in Brazil and continued it in Canada, I bring a multicultural lens to my work and have a deep appreciation for the intersection of mental health, culture, family, and faith. I am bilingual in Portuguese and English, and I am passionate about offering therapy that is inclusive, culturally responsive, and grounded in relational safety.
My clinical interests include anxiety, depression, trauma, parenting, cultural identity, life transitions, and grief. My goal is to empower each client to move toward greater emotional clarity, self-compassion, and meaningful growth.
Personal interests
Outside of the therapy room, I’m often with my family, including our beloved Bernedoodle, exploring trails, reading, or learning about different cultures. I’m passionate about community and the stories that shape our understanding of ourselves and the world around us. Spending time in nature with my dog and exploring new places with my family are meaningful ways I take care of myself.
