My Style & Approach
I believe therapy should be a space where you can show up as yourself without feeling judged, rushed, or expected to have everything figured out. I bring warmth, curiosity, empathy, and genuine care into my work, with the goal of creating a space where you feel heard, understood, and comfortable exploring what is important to you. I value the therapeutic relationship and believe that meaningful change begins with feeling safe enough to be open and understood.
My approach is primarily person-centred, strengths-based, and relational. I also draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), depending on your individual needs and goals. I appreciate the structure that evidence-based approaches can provide while recognizing that therapy is not one-size-fits-all. Together, we can explore the thoughts, emotions, relationships, and patterns influencing your experiences while building on the strengths and resources you already have.
Education, Training, & Professional Development
I am currently completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University and completing my clinical practicum at New Roots Therapy. Prior to my graduate studies, I completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Psychology, which provided me with a strong foundation in scientific and evidence-based thinking. I have also completed a Certificate in Mental Health and Addictions through Toronto Metropolitan University, where I developed a deeper understanding of mental health, substance use, co-occurring concerns, and the broader factors that can influence well-being. I am currently completing a Certificate in Aging and Gerontology at Toronto Metropolitan University, which has further expanded my understanding of aging, later-life transitions, social connection, caregiving, and the experiences of older adults and their families.
Alongside my academic training, I have experience as a Crisis Responder with Kids Help Phone, supporting individuals experiencing distress and overwhelming emotions. This work has strengthened my skills in crisis intervention, grounding, risk assessment, de-escalation, and providing compassionate support during difficult moments. Most importantly, it has taught me the value of remaining calm, present, and non-judgmental when someone is going through a challenging experience. I am committed to continued learning, supervision, and professional development as I grow as a therapist and work toward providing ethical, culturally responsive, and client-centred care.
Personal interests
Outside of my work and studies, I enjoy spending time with my family, travelling, trying new foods and recipes, and discovering new places. I also appreciate the quieter parts of everyday life, whether that means enjoying a good matcha, watching a show, or simply spending time with the people who are important to me. I value finding balance between responsibilities and the things that help us feel connected, present, and like ourselves.
