My Style & Approach
I believe meaningful therapeutic work begins with safety, trust, and a relationship where you feel genuinely understood. My intention is to offer a space that is free of judgment and somewhere you can explore your experiences at your own pace and feel supported in making sense of what matters most to you. I work collaboratively, honouring your expertise in your own life while helping you navigate challenges with curiosity, care, and empowerment.
My practice is client-centred, trauma-informed, and strengths-based. I also work from an anti-racist and anti-oppressive framework, valuing the many identities, cultural contexts, and worldviews clients bring into the room. I strive to create a space where you can explore your values, experiences, and internal landscape while feeling respected and affirmed.
I use an integrative approach that adapts to your unique needs and goals. My work draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and somatic-informed strategies. Together, we identify what feels most supportive for you and build a path forward that supports growth and resilience. Throughout the therapeutic process, my hope is that you feeling increasingly grounded in your strengths, more connected to your inner resources, and better equipped to navigate life’s challenges with confidence.
Education, Training, & Professional Development
I am currently completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. Before beginning graduate studies, I earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Trent University and completed a Graduate Certificate in Addictions and Mental Health from Durham College. I have also pursued additional trainings in Mental Health First Aid, Crisis Prevention and De- Escalation, and Understanding and Working with Sexually Exploited Youth, along with continued learning focused on culturally responsive and trauma-informed care.
For more than five years, I have worked in the mental health field supporting diverse populations. My experience includes facilitating social-skills groups for children and youth, supporting adults with emotional regulation and anger management, administering psychological assessments, and supporting survivors of sexual and domestic violence through trauma-informed counselling and crisis intervention. These roles have given me the privilege of supporting individuals through vulnerable transitions and complex life experiences. These experiences have strengthened my appreciation for the different ways people cope and continue to shape the practical and relational approach I bring to therapy.
I am committed to ongoing learning and continued professional development. Expanding my knowledge allows me to offer care that is inclusive, responsive, and grounded in best practices.
Personal interests
When I am not working or studying, I enjoy staying active and spending time outdoors, whether that’s walking, hiking, or finding new spots to explore. I love cooking and learning new recipes to share with friends and family. When I do slow down, you can usually find me reading a good romance or suspense novel and leaning into the same self-care practices I encourage in my clients.
