My Style & Approach

I believe meaningful change begins with feeling heard, understood, and accepted. My goal is to create a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where you feel comfortable exploring your experiences, emotions, and goals.

My approach is person-centred, trauma-informed, and strengths-based, recognizing that you are the expert in your own life. I believe therapy is a collaborative process built on trust, connection, and curiosity. Together, we can explore the experiences that have shaped you, identify your strengths, and develop strategies that support healing, growth, and meaningful change.

I draw from evidence-based and integrative approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, mindfulness-based practices, and other interventions tailored to your unique needs and goals. My goal is to meet you where you are and create a therapeutic relationship where you feel valued, respected, and supported.

Education, Training, & Professional Development

I am currently completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) at Yorkville University and am completing my clinical practicum at New Roots Therapy under supervision.

I bring 16 years of experience working in the mental health field and currently support individuals as a Dual Diagnosis Case Manager within community mental health. Throughout my career, I have supported individuals and families navigating complex mental health challenges, developmental disabilities, dual diagnosis, and significant life stressors through crisis intervention, residential services, and case management.

These experiences have shaped my belief in seeing the whole person beyond a diagnosis and recognizing everyone’s strengths, resilience, and capacity for growth. I believe everyone deserves to be met with compassion, dignity, and respect while having their unique experiences and stories honoured.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Criminology and an Advanced Certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution. I am committed to lifelong learning and ongoing professional development to provide ethical, inclusive, and culturally responsive care. Recent training includes Assessing and Managing Suicide Risk (AMSR), Indigenous Cultural Safety Training, and Introduction to Anti-Black Racism.

I am passionate about diversity, inclusion, and equitable access to mental health support. A phrase that has always resonated with me is, “Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose.” To me, this represents the values I bring into both my personal and professional life: approaching each person’s story with clarity, compassion, authenticity, and hope. Having clear eyes means taking the time to understand your experiences and perspectives; having a full heart means creating space with empathy, kindness, and genuine connection; and recognizing that growth and healing are possible even during life’s most difficult seasons.

Personal interests

Outside of counselling, I enjoy spending time with my large, blended family and raising seven children. My family experiences have deepened my appreciation for the complexity of relationships, the importance of connection, and the resilience individuals and families demonstrate through life’s transitions.

I enjoy cheering on my children’s sporting events, photography, and maintaining an active lifestyle through regular exercise. I value connection, community, and finding balance in everyday life.
