My Style & Approach

My approach to therapy is holistic, client-centered, and integrative. I believe everyone has a unique story to tell, and my goal is to listen, hold a safe space, and validate the experiences and worldviews that have influenced your identity and sense of self. Therapy is a journey of growth and discovery, and I feel grateful to walk alongside you as you increase self-awareness, heal, and begin to make positive changes in your life and relationships. I truly believe in the phrase “wherever you go, there you are”, and while the process of therapy can feel overwhelming, I look forward to supporting you to feel empowered to be your best true self, in whatever way that looks like for you. I aim to do this through collaboration, empathy, compassion, respect, and non-judgment.

I am drawn to narrative and emotion-focused therapies, polyvagal and somatic experiencing, compassion and mindfulness-based therapies, and cognitive behavioral modalities. However, I believe there is no “one size fits all” approach to therapy and my aim is to meet you where you are by drawing on therapeutic strategies that best fit your needs and goals. I believe that you are the expert of your own life and that you have the answers within. Through collaboration, my role is to guide you as you develop new skills and navigate towards emotional, social, and spiritual well-being.

Education, Training, & Professional Development

I have completed my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology in addition to my undergraduate degree in Equity and Diversity studies at The Toronto Metropolitan University. I have held various positions within the field of diversity, equity, and human rights in higher education, and workplace wellbeing, and have experience working with youth providing peer support and group therapy within community mental health. I have completed various pieces of training in emotion-focused individual, family, and youth therapy, narrative therapy, compassionate inquiry, polyvagal theory, somatic experiencing, mindfulness, crisis intervention and suicide prevention, and culturally responsive, trauma-informed intake and assessment. I am passionate about working with individuals, youth, and families to help rebuild a sense of trust, safety, and connection.

I am also passionate about diversity, inclusion, and equitable access to mental health support. As Maya Angelou wrote, “In diversity, there is beauty and strength” and I truly believe that meeting clients at all their intersections is important for working towards meaningful change. I look forward to continuing to develop my competencies through further training and professional development, and I am grateful for the trust placed in me to support you on your journey.

Personal interests

I am a mother of 2 young kiddos and learning to navigate the beautiful, chaotic journey of parenthood. I spend most of my free time outdoors with my family, spending time with friends and in my community, practicing yoga, and I love to cook and bake with my daughter. When I have downtime, I love to read a good book or watch a good movie or series on Netflix (I do love good drama or psychological thriller!).

I look forward to learning and growing with you! :)
