My Style & Approach
Supporting individuals, couples, and families to heal, grow, and connect.
My approach is warm, collaborative, caring, and deeply respectful. I strive to create a space where individuals, couples, and families feel safe, supported, and free from judgment — including those from Indigenous, 2SLGBTQIA+, and other diverse communities.
I believe that my clients are the experts on their own experiences. Rather than taking a directive role, I walk alongside them, helping them to explore who they are, who they are not, what is contributing to their distress, and what healing looks like for them. My work is grounded in the belief that everyone has the capacity to grow, heal, build meaningful and safe relationships, and find greater purpose and connection in life.
I support:
Individuals (8 years and older) experiencing anxiety, social anxiety, obsessive-compulsive behaviours, perfectionism, low self-esteem, depressive symptoms, trauma, relationship challenges, or lack of direction
Mothers experiencing postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, challenges to adjusting to parenthood, or parenting challenges
Families navigating relational conflict, parenting challenges, identity questions, or intergenerational issues
Couples working through communication struggles, trust issues, intimacy concerns, or co-parenting difficulties
My integrative approach draws from Emotion-Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Solution-Focused Play Therapy, allowing me to tailor sessions to my client’s unique needs and goals.
At the heart of my work is a deep commitment to supporting healthier people, stronger relationships, and more connected communities — with a long-term vision of creating positive generational change.
Education, Training, & Professional Development
I hold an Honours Bachelor of Science with a Specialty in Mental Health Studies from the University of Toronto and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.
My clinical training focused on supporting individuals, couples, and families through a wide range of challenges, including:
Childhood trauma
Family, couple, and relational difficulties
Parenting
Postpartum
Social anxiety, perfectionism, anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive patterns
Domestic-violence-related concerns
Depressive symptoms, low self-esteem, and a sense of meaninglessness
I have completed additional training in:
Solution-Focused Therapy
Solution-Focused Play Therapy
Emotion-Focused Family Therapy
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Positive Parenting Approaches
My learning has been further shaped by my focus on family systems, early childhood trauma, postpartum mental health, parenting challenges, and childhood concerns such as social anxiety, self-esteem issues, and peer conflict.
I remain committed to ongoing professional development. In fall 2025, I am continuing to expand my skills through advanced training in Emotion-Focused Couples Therapy and Emotion-Focused Family Therapy for step-families.
Personal interests
Aside from my studies and work as a therapist, I spend most of my time with my partner, two young children, and our rescue dog Lexie. In my personal time, I am an avid reader and a crossword enthusiast, and I love to go camping with my family every chance I get! My favourite places to camp are Cyprus Lake Campground in Tobermory and Bon Echo Provincial Park in Cloyne.
