Behaviour Services: consultation & assessment

We offer specialized behaviour consultation and assessment services for children, adolescents, adults, and their families. Behaviour consultation services may be beneficial for:

  • Children, adolescents, and families struggling with behavioural challenges at school (e.g., challenges with attendance, completion of work, participation, social skills, attention and focus, transitions, etc.) or at home (e.g., challenges with meal and bedtime routines, completing chores, curfew issues, verbal or physical aggression, homework, etc.)

  • Children, adolescents, and families struggling with anxiety (e.g., social anxiety, separation anxiety, generalized anxiety or specific phobias)

  • Families living with specific diagnoses, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Eating Disorders, or Anxiety Disorders

Our Behaviour Specialists are available for in-office, in-home, & in-school consultation and assessment

Assessment methods may include:

  • Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBA)

  • Functional Analyses (FA)

  • Skills Assessments

  • Direct observation in home and school settings

  • Antecedent, Behaviour, Consequence data (ABC data)

During a consultation with one of our Behaviour Specialists, strategies and techniques may include the use of:

  • Relapse prevention for those recovering from an Eating Disorder

  • Development of behaviour contracts

  • Components of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

  • Self-monitoring

  • Behavioural activation

  • Functional Communication Training (FCT)

  • Development of prompting hierarchies

  • Naturalistic teaching strategies

  • Video modelling

  • Reinforcement or reward systems

  • Schedules and routines

  • Visuals or visual schedules

  • Exposure-based therapy

  • Systematic desensitization
