Education, Training, & professional development
As a graduate of the Forensic Psychology program at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT), I have studied many different areas of psychology and human behaviour. During my time as a student at UOIT, I also completed dozens of case studies involving individuals, couples, and families experiencing mental health and addiction concerns.
In September 2014, during my final year of studies, I began a practicum placement at New Roots Therapy and have been working here ever since! Over time, my role here has evolved and I am now the clinic's full-time Manager of Business Operations and Client Care.
I am currently training with the DRCC to volunteer with their crisis line as I begin the process of applying for my Masters in Counselling Psychology in 2020! I am hoping with these new skills I will be better equipped to assist clients in the future.
MY STYLE & APPROACH WITH CLIENTS
I approach every client with an open mind and an open heart. There is no concern too big or too small, and I am always willing to go the extra mile to help guide clients in the right direction. If you have a concern that you would like to talk about, please give me call - I am all ears! I will answer any initial questions that you have about our services and will help you schedule your first appointment with one of the therapists or other wellness practitioners on our team.
I spend most of my free time with my puppy Morty going on hikes and other adventures. I enjoy spending most of my time outdoors, especially camping in the summer and making the drive to my home town of Haliburton when I can. Although I live a fairly active lifestyle I can still be found spending the day playing video games or enjoying a good series on Netflix. I also love comedy! Making people smile and laugh is one of my greatest joys.
